At College Road Surgery, we are committed to ensuring that all patients can access our services safely and comfortably. The practice aims to remove barriers to healthcare for patients with disabilities, mobility issues, sensory impairments, or language needs.
Physical Access
The practice premises include the following accessibility features:
- Step-free access to the building via a disabled access ramp.
- Fire safety doors throughout the premises. Patients who have difficulty opening these doors may ask a member of the reception team for assistance.
- A disabled access toilet located on the ground floor of the practice.
Hearing Support
A hearing loop system is available at reception to assist patients who use hearing aids.
Parking Access
Parking is available close to the practice to support patients who may have mobility difficulties.
Interpretation Services
The practice can arrange professional interpretation services for patients who do not speak English or who require support communicating with healthcare professionals.
Interpretation services may include:
- Telephone interpretation
- Video interpretation
- Face-to-face interpreters (when required)
Patients are encouraged to inform the reception team in advance if an interpreter is required so that arrangements can be made before their appointment.
Patient Assistance Arrangements
Staff at the practice are available to provide support to patients who require assistance accessing services. This may include:
